About Waseda Jitsugyo High School Attached to Waseda University
Waseda Jitsugyo High School Attached to Waseda University (早稲田大学系属早稲田実業学校高等部, Waseda Daigaku Keizoku Waseda Jitsugyo Gakko Kotogakubu) is a private, co-educational high school located in Kokubunji, Tokyo. It is a highly prestigious school in Japan.
The school is well-known for its strong academic program and for its direct ties to Waseda University, one of Japan’s top private universities. Most of its graduates are recommended for admission to Waseda University without having to take the regular entrance exam. The school’s curriculum is designed to prepare students for the university’s various faculties, including law, commerce, and political science.
In addition to academics, Waseda Jitsugyo High School is famous for its strong baseball team, which is a regular contender in the National High School Baseball Championship. The team has produced several professional baseball players, most notably Yuki Saito and Kazuhiro Wada.
The school was founded in 1901 by Shigenobu Okuma, who was also the founder of Waseda University. Originally a vocational school, it later transitioned into a high school with a general academic curriculum.
